Trump earlier today mocked protesters who gathered for large demonstrations across the U.S. and the world on Saturday to signal discontent with his leadership, but later offered a more conciliatory tone, saying he recognized such marches as a "hallmark of our democracy." In a statement issued late on Thursday, a lawyer for former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn said that Flynn is willing to talk to the intelligence committees in Congress under the right “circumstances,” but would not confirm whether Flynn is seeking immunity.

The statement came after the Wall Street Journal reported that Flynn has offered to sit for an interview with the committees in exchange for immunity.

“General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit,” Flynn’s lawyer, Robert Kelner, said in a statement obtained by CNN. “Out of respect for the Committees, we will not comment right now on the details of the discussions between counsel for General Flynn and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, other than to confirm that those discussions are taking place.”

Kelner noted that Flynn is a decorated veteran and bashed allegations of treason and “unsubstantiated” demands to the former national security adviser to President Donald Trump. He said that Flynn would like “assurances against unfair prosecution.”

“Notwithstanding his life of national service, the media are awash with unfounded allegations, outrageous claims of treason, and vicious innuendo directed against him. He is now the target of unsubstantiated public demands by Members of Congress and other political critics that he be criminally investigated,” Kelner said in the statement. “No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution.”

A spokesman for House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes told Politico that did not offer to testify in exchange for immunity.

seems to me it should be easy to say your client DOES NOT seek immunity closing off most speculation that he is concerned with prosecution or surly as in this case that your client would NOT be implicating the POTUS!

FACT IS people who have been correct all along are now predicting that the puppet is ALREADY considering resignation possibly a medical excuse like early dementia.

and seems people are also being told to forge new relationships with the VP in anticipation.

rumors are always part of the game…but…haven’t seen any that would encourage the puppet or his regime.

  3. ‘unfair prosecution’? Really? Your ex-boss is the archetype of going to court over every trivial matter under the sun until the other side simply throws their hands up in disgust. You want immunity? Let’s have a taste of what you’ve got and then we’ll talk. But the question of ‘unfair’ is up to you.

  4. He “has a story to tell,” but there’s a politicized witch hunt. It sounds like his story might be one of his conspiracy theories rather than being provable facts about others. I’d be very careful offering any immunity to Flynn unless what he has to say checks out and is supported by solid documentation. He has little credibility. So, of course, Nunes will probably offer complete unqualified immunity today - and Trump will probably give him a complete pardon in a Saturday morning tweet.

  5. Flynn Wants ‘Assurances Against Unfair Prosecution’

Apparently, Flynn has as much faith in the Sessions Justice Department as the rest of us do.
