Sarasota, Florida police officer Andrew Halpin arrested a Florida man on July 18. After handcuffing and booking the man, Halpin started to toss peanuts into the intoxicated man’s mouth like a zoo animal, the Herald-Tribune reported Monday.
The man, intoxicated and handcuffed, couldn’t catch the peanuts with him mouth and the food fell to the floor, the newspaper reported.
Halpin helped him out by pushing the food with his boot toward the man, who then began eating the peanuts off the floor, according to the newspaper.
The Herald-Tribune reported that the officer was using “dog commands” toward the homeless man.
Halpin was suspended Monday after the police chief saw the security footage.

The 3 non-intervening officers should get the same punishment.
How dumb are so many cops that they forget cameras are recording everything they do?
A paid desk assignment followed by 30 minutes of sensitivity training.
Should all be fired. Period. Full stop. People with no human empathy or concern for the well-being of others, particularly those who are helpless and under their custody and control, should not be armed and sent out to “protect” said others. They are fundamentally and constitutionally incapable of performing that duty. They like to joke about the animals being in cages, but the truth is, THEY are the animals uncaged.
Thank you! Way to treat your fellow humans, there, Officers.
