The First Family will attend a charity concert on Dec. 9 at the National Building Museum in Washington, where the South Korean rapper PSY, famous for his “Gangnam Style” song, will perform. On Friday, Mediaite pointed to a report on the rapper’s past anti-American and anti-Iraq War remarks. Conservatives have since been making hay over the rapper’s past, and a petition to rescind PSY’s invitation to the concert has been started on the White House website. The First Family traditionally attends the annual performance, and the White House on Friday confirmed to TPM the Obama family is going this year.
The concert is hosted by TNT, and Diana Ross, Demi Lovato and others will also perform. TNT was not immediately available for comment.
