Federal and state officials around Baltimore and Washington gave workers the option of staying home on Monday, after a weekend storm left millions without power. Electricity may be out for several more days in affected areas, NBC News reports.

The storm was that started on Friday was blamed for 17 deaths, CBS News reports.
