FBI Preparing Furlough Plan Should Fiscal Cliff Talks Fail

Should the so-called fiscal cliff talks fail between President Obama and congressional Republicans, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is considering a furlough plan for its employees, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday:

FBI leaders are considering a plan in which most personnel — including the special agents who investigate cases and make arrests — take one unpaid furlough day roughly every two weeks, which would mean two or three days less of work and pay each month, according to multiple officials.
