What Dildos Can Teach About Gun Safety (VIDEO)

A PSA from Evolve, an gun safety advocacy group, uses sex toys to make a point about keeping firearms away from children.

If there’s one way to make people pay attention to a PSA, it’s to feature two children using dildos to sword fight.

Evolve, an organization that advocates gun safety, released a spot Wednesday that’s sure to get people talking. In the ad, two mothers chatting about their sons’ sleepover quickly fall silent when their children run out on the front lawn clutching brightly colored vibrators.

“If they find it, they’ll play with it,” the ad’s narrator says. “Always lock up your guns.”

The suggestion, of course, is that a parent who would be horrified if her child came across a sex toy should be similarly concerned about leaving unsecured firearms laying around where kids can find them — because unlike a dildo, a gun could cause serious harm.

  1. Cue the RWers about to be more angry at the sight of sex toys than they are horrified at the number of children killed by unsecured firearms/irresponsible gun owners in 5…4…3…

  2. Well, it does get the point across.

  3. I’ll bet the Rabbit vibrator has more heartfelt testimonials than a Glock.

  4. And unlike a gun, I laughed about that commercial. Well done.

  5. The only way to stop a bad girl with a vibrator is a good guy with a vibrator.
