Actress and Obama campaign national co-chairwoman Eva Longoria headlined a “Women Vote 2012” summit in Colorado on Sunday, the first in a series of events designed to rally women’s support for President Obama, reports the Denver Post.

“I don’t think it’s a hard choice if you’re a woman,” Longoria said to a crowd of about 400. “We have to get out there and tell [others] ‘If you’re a woman, there is no way you can vote Republican.’”

Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette and the campaign’s national women’s vote director Kate Chapek also spoke at the event. The campaign will hold more summits in swing states as it seeks to shore up women’s votes.
