Eric Trump on Wednesday joined Donald Trump’s surrogates in applauding the Republican nominee for not bringing up Bill Clinton’s sex scandals during the Monday debate, even saying that the moment is “something I’ll always remember.”

“I mean, he very well could’ve looked down—and he said it when he came off the debate stage, ‘I wasn’t gonna respond to that question because I saw Chelsea in the front row and I just wasn’t gonna go there out of respect for her,'” Eric Trump told Iowa radio host Simon Conway, according to a clip highlighted by Buzzfeed News. “And that was a big moment for me and probably will actually become — my life and this campaign — and probably something I’ll always remember.”

He said his dad “really took the high ground where he had the opportunity to go very, very low.”

“I’m really proud of him for doing that. And I think a lot of people recognize that,” Eric Trump said. “I don’t know, I think that took a lot of courage in so many regards and I think he really answered that well and took the high ground and kept the high road.”

  1. I’ll never forget the day, that one singular moment, when my father wasn’t a total ass.

Wow, they set that bar awfully low, don’t they?

  2. Yes, he really showed a lot of class holding his tongue for seven minutes until he was on national TV in the spin room and talked about it then. And his campaign manager and son talking about it to national outlets that Chelsea will never read or see or hear is very classy, too.

Essentially they’re saying, “Oh, we’re happy to talk about it where Chelsea will hear about it, but we don’t have the guts to say it to her face.”

I don’t understand why they want to go here, since Trump cheated on not one but two wives. He’s making the campaign about this question: “Is it worse to cheat, or to be cheated on?”

  3. Yes…that’s quite an achievement.

  4. Hey Cat Killer, just wait and see what he does next time…

  5. We will bear that in mind for the next debates…
