The pro-choice political action committee EMILY’s List launched a new ad campaign on Monday attacking Gov. Scott Walker (R) on abortion rights.

The ad, which goes on air this week and is fueled by $750,000 statewide from the committee, is meant to help Democratic gubernatorial nominee Mary Burke in the race.

The ad features “Meg,” a nurse practitioner, describing how she was “outraged” when Walker “quietly signed a law trying to restrict doctors from performing abortions. The ad was first reported on Monday by The New York Times.

“Scott Walker wants to make all abortions illegal. Even in the cases of rape and incest,” Meg said. “Look, this is one of the toughest cases a woman has to make. It’s not up to politicians like Scott Walker. Scott Walker needs to get out of my patient’s lives, out of my examining room, and just leave women alone.”

A recent Marquette University poll found Burke leading 54 percent to 40 percent among women voters.

The TPM Polltracker average gives Walker a 1.6 point lead over Burke.
