Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is putting her significant influence and fundraising prowess behind California Attorney General Kamala Harris in the race to replace retiring Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).
“California Attorney General Kamala Harris is a smart, tough, and experienced prosecutor who has consistently stood up to Wall Street,” Warren said in an email to supporters that asked for donations to support Harris’s campaign. “I worked with Kamala, and I saw up close and personal that she is tough, she is principled, and she fights hard.”
Harris announced earlier this week that she would run to succeed Boxer, instantly making her a frontrunner in the race. Billionaire enviromentalist Tom Steyer and Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) are two other prominent names who are considering a campaign.
Excellent!
If I lived in California, I would vote for this woman in the blink of an eye. That Sen. Warren supports her makes her even more appealing. I have seen her being interviewed several times, and have always thought that this lady is just the kind of young, rising star that the Dem party needs.
I’ve heard about her but know very little about her myself. I trust Warren’s judgement. If Jackie Speer ever decided to run however, I’d support her if I were a Californian. I like her too.
Lizzy appears to be a good judge of ability and character.
Kamala is wicked smart. We love here in California. I am so happy to live here in this wonderfully progressive, forward moving state with the best weather anywhere. Now if only we can have a few years of good rainy seasons.
