During a commencement address at Bridgewater State University on Saturday, Elizabeth Warren referenced her Twitter battle with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The Massachusetts senator told graduates that her life has been full of “mistakes and twists and turns and failures.”
“Heck, on my day of graduation, I never imagined I would visit foreign countries. I never imagined I would be a commencement speaker. I never imagined I would get into a Twitter war with Donald Trump,” she said, according to the Boston Globe.
She later told graduates to brush off criticism, using a Taylor Swift lyric.
“As one of the great philosophers of our time has said, ‘Haters going to hate, hate, hate hate, hate,'” she said, according to the Globe. “Knowing who you are helps you, ‘Shake It Off.'”
Following her speech, Warren told reporters that Trump “is a truly dangerous man and there is some risk that he could be president of the United States.”
“I think it’s time for all of us to pay careful attention to him and to the issues that he has raised and to start fighting back,” she said.
I don’t have a twitter account but could someone start a #billionairemyass meme?
Trump…once a frat boy, always a frat boy. Trump did announce his new television show. Its an autobiography, Aressested development.
Next up, a slew of NYT pieces on his Klan Member father and how he would spout his Neanderthal platitudes at the dinner table and his office, where everyone had to manifest agreement.
