Elizabeth Warren has a new TV ad in the Massachusetts Senate race, featuring video of President Obama praising Warren — a potentially good route to pursue, in a state that is expected to vote for Obama by a wide margin in November.

The video of Obama comes from when Obama nominated Warren to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which she had worked on creating, before her nomination was filibustered by Senate Republicans: “Elizabeth Warren — she’s a janitor’s daughter who has become one of the country’s fiercest advocates for the middle class. She came up with an idea, for a new independent agency that would have one simple, overriding mission: Standing up for consumers, and middle-class families.”

The ad then cuts to Warren herself, speaking to the camera: “The big banks tried to stop us — but that new agency is already working, to cut the fine print, and hold those banks accountable. We can take on the big guys, and win. I’m Elizabeth Warren, and I approve this message.”
