Egypt’s Parliament has passed a law banning former members of the Mubarak regime from running for office in upcoming elections. The law would end the presidential candidacy of former Vice-President Omar Suleiman, who had recently declared his interest in the Egyptian presidency. The law will need to be agreed to by Egypt’s ruling military council.
