Following news of a mistrial, John Edwards stood on the steps of the courthouse in Greensboro, North Carolina and thanked the jurors, saying he was ultimately the one responsible for his actions.

“Thank goodness we live in a country that has the kind of system that we have,” Edwards said.

“While I do not believe I did anything illegal…I did an awful, awful lot that was wrong and there is no one else responsible for my sins,” Edwards added. “I am responsible.”
