According to Al Jazeera, the Ecuadorian government is planning to make a decision later today on whether or not to grant Julian Assange asylum. Assange, the WikiLeaks founder, is currently holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London and is seeking asylum to avoid being sent to Sweden.

Swedish prosecutors have announced that they want to question Assange about sexual assault claims made by two women, though Assange has said he fears he could face extradition to the United States from Sweden. Marco Albuja, Ecuador’s deputy foreign minister, said that Assange will “remain at the embassy, under the protection of the Ecuadorian government” until President Rafael Correa makes his decision.
