GOP frontrunner Donald Trump slammed Republicans in Congress for not being willing to threaten a government shutdown in recent budget negotiations, Business Insider reported. The real estate mogul said historians would ultimately blame “Barack Hussein Obama” if the government had shutdown in a budget standoff.

“They’re horrible poker players. Horrible,” Trump said at a rally in Florida Saturday, according to Business Insider. “I like Boehner as a person. He’s a nice guy. But … I heard Boehner before he left say there’s no way we’re going to close up government.”

Trump said the “other side just won” because Republicans backed away from shutdown threats.

“By the way, in 50 years from now, nobody is going to know about Boehner or Ryan or any of these guys if the government closes for a little while,” Trump continued. “They’re going to know about Barack Hussein Obama. That’s who they’re going to know about. That’s who they’re going to know about.”

    but wait…there’s more.

A 1995 ABC news poll had Republicans receiving the brunt of the blame with 46% of respondents compared to the 27% that blamed Clinton

    > In the immediate aftermath of the crisis opinion polls showed approval to drop for the Republican Party. Polls showed that Americans blamed the Republicans more for the shutdown than President Barack Obama by a margin of 22 points (53 percent to 31 percent). Another poll showed a 74% disapproval rating of the way Republicans handled the crisis while 61% disapproved of the way Democrats handled the budget talks

Boehner and Ryan have already ‘seen the elephant’ and they clearly know that any shutdown battle doesn’t work well for them or the GOP (especially in a presidential election year) in the end. However keep on trolling Donald…you are doing great.

Ok back to that titantron theme

Yes Donald. And in fifty years you’ll have been long forgotten.

  5. more like the president isn’t from ‘around here’ rhetoric again. Obama isn’t running again, so that ‘strike’ will lead to the President shrugging that off.
