In 1987, former President Richard Nixon wrote a letter saying his wife had predicted that current Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump would win if the celebrity tycoon ever decided to run for office.

Nixon wrote to Trump after the ex-President’s wife, Pat, saw him on a popular daytime television show. The December 1987 letter was published Tuesday by the New York Times.

The President told Trump that Pat Nixon “predicts that whenever you decide to run for office you will be a winner!”
