Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump may hate America’s journalists, but as he assured a crowd in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Monday night, he wouldn’t kill “such lying disgusting people.”
“I hate some of these people. I hate ’em,” Trump said. “I would never kill them. I would never do that.”
The topic of killing journalists in the land of the First Amendment has repeatedly come up since Trump readily accepted Russian president Vladimir Putin’s praise of the real estate mogul’s campaign. When confronted about Putin’s alleged killing of political critics, Trump told MSNBC that “at least he’s a leader.”
“But no, I would never kill them,” Trump assured his rally’s attendees. “I think that would be despicable.”
