Republican frontrunner Donald Trump was back in top form at a Monday rally in Rhode Island when he repeatedly took one rival to task for shoving his face with food on the campaign trail.
Trump told a rowdy crowd the fragile alliance between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Cruz) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich actually made him “happy,” because “it shows how weak they are, it shows how pathetic they are.”
While Trump slammed Cruz as a “failed senator,” he launched into an extended riff on Kasich’s tendency to chow down on camera.
“Did you see him? He has the news conference all the time when he’s eating. I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion,” the billionaire said. “This guy takes a pancake and he shoves it in his mouth. It is disgusting. Did you want that for your president? I don’t think so.”
The remarks come after Trump’s rhetoric took a notably subdued turn the night of his victory in the New York primary.

I suspect this bodes not well for Kasich’s VP chances . . .
The buffet tables must be overflowing now that Christie is no longer on the campaign trail.
