Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Monday that he would vote for a Muslim — if he agreed with the candidate’s political values.

Fox host Greta Van Susteren for Trump’s thoughts on GOP rival Ben Carson’s comment that he does not think a Muslim should be President.

Trump defended Carson.

“Well, I have a lot of respect for Ben Carson and I like him a lot. And we have had a very good relationship,” Trump said.

But after some back and forth, Van Susteren asked Trump explicitly if he would vote for a Muslim — if Trump agreed with the candidate’s policies.

“They would have to go through the long, hard process. It’s a long, tough road, Greta, I can tell you, and it really is very revealing,” Trump said. “And I would have no problem with it, no.”
