Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took to Twitter to congratulate his “friend” Arnold Schwarzenegger after the action movie star and former governor of California was announced as the new host of the show for the 2016-17 season on Monday.
Here’s Trump’s response on Twitter:
Congrats to my friend @Schwarzenegger who is doing next season’s Celebrity Apprentice. He’ll be great & will raise lots of $ for charity.

Trump previously hosted the program, but NBC Universal ended its relationship with Trump earlier this summer after the businessman described Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and drug dealers during his campaign announcement. An NBC executive later said that Trump could “absolutely not” return to hosting the program.
Trump added after his tweet to Schwarzenegger:
To all my fans, sorry I couldn’t do The Apprentice any longer—but equal time (presidential run) prohibits me from doing so. Love!

And meanwhile in actual news, Australian Prime Minster Tony Abbot was ousted as leader of the centre-right Liberal Party and will step down as Prime Minister. He was ousted by Malcolm Turnbull who is considered far more moderate, and has pressed for substantive climate-change legislation and supports same-gender marriage.
If neither were #besties with @realDonaldTrump, I’ll have to take issue with this comment.
Well, Donald, the only reason you’re no longer doing the show is because NBC wants nothing to do with you after your racist comments.
