Dr. George Velmahos, chief of trauma surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, told reporters on Tuesday that doctors have pulled pellets and nails out of Boston Marathon bombing victims.

“I can’t say what they are with certainty, but that’s what it looked like,” Velmahos said of the nails. He said the objects were consistent across victims’ wounds. He said some victims had somewhere between 10 and 40 objects in their bodies.
