Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), dean of the House, was taken to the hospital on Monday for abdominal pain, according to his office

The congressman is doing well at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and should be back on Capitol Hill next week.

“Dingell is doing well, is receiving an IV treatment of antibiotics, and remains in good spirits. Doctors expect him to be released in a few days, and Dingell expects to be in Washington for Congressional session next week,” his office said in a statement.
