Three demonstrators were arrested Thursday in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill after they dropped a pile of what looked like real dollar bills in the atrium.
Lt. Kimerbly Schneider with the Capitol Police told TPM that the money “appeared to be real” but she could not say with certainty.
The three were charged with “Crowding, Obstructing & Incommoding” and are currently being processed.
The Washington Examiner’s Charlie Spiering witnessed the demonstration and tweeted details (including a pair of videos posted below) about the demonstration, which he said was led by individuals protesting agribusiness giant Monsanto. It is unclear which group was behind the protest.
Money on the floor is part of an anti – Monsanto protest. 3 people arrested and taken away.
