A Democratic official just confirmed what an Al Green representative told me earlier: the legendary singer will appear at a high-dollar fundraiser for President Obama in California Thursday night.
Green “was a late addition to the fundraiser” at the fundraiser hosted at a private residence in San Francisco, according to the official. ABC reported the home belongs to novelist Robert Mailer Anderson and his wife, Nicola Miner. Tickets for the 70-person event cost $38,800 each.
Green is “performing one song,” the official said.
It won’t be the only musically-themed fundraising event of the night for Obama. Following the high-dollar event featuring Green, Obama will attend a fundraising reception with 2,500 people in San Francisco featuring a musical performance by Chris Cornell.
