Seeking to defuse tensions, the DNC said Friday, May 27, 2016, it will hold public hearings around the country to develop the platform for its summer convention, a focal point for supporters of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Wasserman Schultz announced that a 15-member platform drafting committee will hold hearings in Washington on June 8-9, Phoenix on June 17-18, St. Louis on June 24-25 and Orlando, Florida, on July 8-9, about two weeks before the Philadelphia convention. Outgoing Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has had a rocky few weeks. But Politico reported that when she gave a few parting words to staffers Sunday after announcing her resignation, her advice to them was essentially this: fuck the haters.

Wasserman Schultz has stayed in Philadelphia this week, Politico reported, despite announcing Sunday that she’d step down after hacked emails showed that she and other party officials had a bias toward Hillary Clinton over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). She’s been meeting with donors and attending events at the Democratic National Convention this week with a police escort, according to the report.

She hasn’t seen the DNC staff since Sunday, when she gave them a particularly spirited parting message, according to Politico.

“And all those scumbags who are giving you shit on social media? F— them, they don’t know the first thing,” several people who attended that meeting recounted her saying to Politico. “They don’t know you.”
