A spokesman for the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police said Thursday they have “no information” about reports of gunshots near the U.S. Capitol building Thursday.
“No, we have no information at this time. We’re investigating, we’re on the scene trying to figure out what’s going on, along with Capitol Police,” a spokesman, who only idenfied himself as officer Clay, told TPM.
A phone call to the U.S. Capitol Police’s press office was not answered. There have been multiple reports of gunshots heard near the building, which is now reportedly on “lockdown.”
