U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron’s stroll through Leeds was cut short on Monday when a “jogger” came close to slamming into him.

As Cameron walked out of Leeds Civic Hall, a man running at full-speed almost crashed into the prime minister, the BBC reported. Cameron was scooped up by his security detail and was reportedly uninjured.

According to the BBC, police apprehended the 28-year-old man, who was later “de-arrested.” Authorities said he was sprinting on his way to the gym.

The moment was caught on video and posted to Vine:

”No threats were made, and after the man’s details were checked, he was de-arrested and allowed on his way,” Chief Inspector Derek Hughes told the British news outlet.

  1. “De-arrested”? This from the birthplace of the English language. How about “released” since you had him in custody?

And on this side of the pond we’ve been hyperventilating that a normal human being can actually get over 10’ high spiked fences to make it with hundreds of feet of our political leaders.

  2. Maybe he was texting at the same time and got distracted…

  3. “Jogger”? Who goes for a run with an armload full of stuff?

You know, I really hate Vine. It feels like we’ve reverted in technology to animated .gifs
