Hillary Clinton has yet to choose her running mate, but one congressman is already getting in line to replace Sen. Tim Kaine (R-VA) if he is chosen.

Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA), the conservative insurgent who stunned the political world in 2014 when he beat Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Republican primary, has said he may throw his hat into the ring.

“If that seat opens up in a special election or whatever, yeah I would consider it,” Brat told CNN. “Congress, Senate the executive stuff, that is the stuff I love.”

If Kaine were selected to be Clinton’s VP, an initial replacement would be appointed by a Democratic governor with a special election to be held in 2017.
