A shooting at the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Penn. on Thursday left one dead and two injured, according to multiple news reports.
The shooting took place in the psychiatric ward at the Sister Marie Lenahan Wellness Center on the hospital’s campus, according to NBC Philadelphia.
A female hospital employee died from a gunshot wound, District Attorney Jack Whelan confirmed to CBS Philly. A doctor and the shooter were also injured.
Whelan told NBC that the shooter had psychiatric issues and said it was unclear who shot him. The suspect was taken to a nearby trauma center and is in critical condition.
Police are still investigating the incident.
