“The Daily Show” correspondent Jessica Williams confronted a state lawmaker about his transphobia and support of “bathroom bills” on Wednesday night’s episode.

Chaplin and state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt (R-CO) said trans people are “confused.”

“They not only want to be confused about their own identity, but they want the rest of us to be confused with them. Now they want the government to join them on that pretense? They’re making us into liars,” Klingenschmitt told Williams.

The representative was open to explaining his religious beliefs, but first he had to change.

“I would be comfortable talking about religious freedom, but I have to change into my alter ego,” Klingenschmitt said.

“You have to change into your alter ego? Who are you? Lady Gaga? Go on and change,” she told him.

Then Williams waited for him “to transition so he would feel more comfortable during our interview.”

The irony of the situation appeared to be lost on Klingenschmitt.

  1. If I remember correctly, this guy was pretty much pushed out of the military due to his vehemently anti-gay views. He’s the one leading the charges against not just trans people, but lesbians and gays as well. He’s really venomous and has a rotten soul.

  2. Hey, the guy needs to change into clothing that’s endomorphically equal to a dress to express how he really feels. Ain’t nothing wrong with that!

  3. I’m ashamed that I fought and bled for this country as a young marine of 18, so arsehole’s like Chaplin Chaps and bigot’s like him can spread their unadulterated garbage! I’d like to see what the Chaplin is hiding, in his closet!
So if I come across a someone giving a transgender or gay person a hard time, I’m going to step-in an give that person a “cold-cock sandwich, delivered from the right and followed up with one delivered from the left!” I might go to jail, but it will be well worth it! Especially when I question the “cold-cocked sandwich eater” on the stand, at my trial!

  4. He was actually finally court martialed for wearing his uniform to a political rally and disobeying an order not to do that. He has contended that he was booted for praying in the name of Jesus. All military courts rejected that argument. He took his case to federal court and lost there also. If you read about his beliefs you will find that he is a wacko.
