New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Monday said he didn’t know enough about Ebola or the protocols for addressing it to comment about the federal government’s response.

Bloomberg Politics’ Mark Halperin asked the governor how well the U.S. has responded to Ebola.

“It’s not my field,” Cuomo responded. “I’m a lawyer and I like to sort of stay in what I know, or stay far away from something that I have no idea about.”

He said that he has been working to prepare New York for a potential Ebola case, and that he has found it to be challenging.

“And I can tell you we’ve never been here before and they make it sound easy on the television, just all of the protocol and everything is fine. But these are very strict and specific protocols,” he said. “Much more specific and strict than most of the preparation thus far.”

Cuomo added that he doesn’t think it’s a political issue.

“I do not see any partisan or political divide or commentary about it,” he said. “I don’t get that.”

  1. Funny in respect to how all the Republicans seem to know all about it…

  2. That hasn’t stop the Republicans.

  3. Who will be the first GOP talking head to level criticism at Mr. Cuomo for not fear mongering?

  4. Sleezeball doesn’t give a shit about public health. He’s trying to figure out which know-nothing stance positions him best for a 2016 run. And the most ridiculous part of all is that he’s already completely and permanently out of the running and doesn’t realize it.
