Freshman Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Sunday that President Obama appears is not taking opposition to his decisions seriously in the wake of his re-election.
“I think this is a president right now who has drunk the tea,” Cruz said on “Fox News Sunday.” “On election, he is feeling very good about himself, he is feeling like there can be no opposition to his position. And so, it doesn’t seem — he doesn’t seem terribly concerned that there’s not a lot of support for Chuck Hagel in the Senate.”
On reports that Obama will nominate former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) to head the Pentagon, Cruz said “it is very difficult to imagine the circumstance in which I could support his confirmation” due toHagel’s past comments on Israel.
