As a PIX11 news reporter did a live shot on Wednesday night near Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, a white couple walked up behind her and mockingly reenacted the life-ending chokehold performed on unarmed black man Eric Garner by a white police officer.

The offensive gesture occurred mere hours after a grand jury decided not to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleos for his use of the chokehold.

PIX11 reporter Allison Kaden was covering the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree lighting, which took place without problems although massive protests over the grand jury decision were occurring throughout New York City.

As Kaden spoke to the camera, the couple walked up behind her. The man grabbed the woman and wrapped an arm around her neck.

Kaden did not react to the offensive gesture and likely did not see it taking place.

PIX11 later posted video of the incident to YouTube:
