Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump’s ousted campaign manager, lost a $1.2 million book deal after he reportedly refused to provide a publisher with the nondisclosure agreement he signed while working for the campaign, Politico reported Tuesday.
Beginning in March, Lewandowski reportedly shopped around a book, tentatively titled “Let Trump be Trump,” that would chronicle his time on the real estate mogul’s campaign.
Lewandowski was fired last week after weeks of reports of internal turmoil among the top players in Trump’s campaign. He was quickly scooped up by CNN as a commentator.
Anonymous sources told Politico that HarperCollins was one of at most five publishing companies that expressed interest in a Lewandowski memoir. Lewandowski told the publishing company that he had the go-ahead from the Trump campaign, but HarperCollins was hesitant to sign the deal without seeing the nondisclosure agreement Lewandowski agreed to, according to the report.
Politico also reported that Lewandowski was soliciting these book deals with assistance from Robert Stryk, an advisor based in California.
But Lewandowski told Politico that he wasn’t “shopping a book deal,” and that if he was, he’d be doing so alone.
“There is no contract for me. I have never seen it,” Lewandowski told the publication.
The Trump campaign and Stryk declined to comment to Politico, while HarperCollins didn’t respond to the publication’s requests for comment.
Fastest sell-out in history.
Sleaze ball
…fastest attempted sell-out in history.
And CNN hired this little fuck because he could tell them what was going on inside the Von Clownstick campaign. [rolls eyes]
I’m old enough to be very sad when I consider how pathetic CNN has become.
