Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress on Tuesday, conservatives lauded the Prime Minister, comparing him to Winston Churchill.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu is a Churchill in a world full of Chamberlains and I’m disappointed with President Obama’s refusal to listen. Israel is an oasis of liberty in a dangerous neighborhood full of dictators, and we should open our ears to his warnings,” potential 2016 candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) said in a statement following Netanyahu’s address.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) also compared President Obama to Neville Chamberlain while praising Netanyahu’s Tuesday speech, according to Slate.

“The deal being negotiated today is reminiscent of Munich in 1938,” Cruz told reporters on Tuesday, referencing the Munich Agreement. “And when the administration comes back to America and promises peace in our time, we shouldn’t believe them now any more than we should have believed them then.”

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said that “Benjamin Netanyahu today was everything Barack Obama is not.”

Limbaugh criticized Obama for believing “that speeches and words can tame tyrants.”

“Speeches, words, persuasion, will never work. Ask Neville Chamberlain. Ask anybody who has asked a tyrant to stop being a tyrant,” he said. “This speech today has a lot of people wishing we had this kind of forceful moral, ethical clarity leading our own country.”

National Review columnist Quin Hillyer wrote that “Netanyahu, not Obama, speaks for us” and called the Prime Minister “the leader of the free world.”

  1. Yeah, he’s a “Churchhill” just like I’m an “Audrey Hepburn”

The GOP is batshit insane. Seriously. Bibi wants us to invade Iran. Who really thinks that’s a good idea?

  2. Well of course they have stiff wieners for him, he sounds just like Dick Cheney.

  3. That’s a fair point. LOL.

You’d think they’d take a stab at not all saying the same thing. Try not to be so freaking obvious that they’re regurgitating talking points… but NO.

  4. "Limbaugh criticized Obama for believing “that speeches and words can tame tyrants.” Oh, I don’t know, after all Limbaugh believed that draft dodging can successfully win wars.

  5. Ralph’s very, very brief synopsis of Bibi’s appearance before the joint session.

He blew in, blew up, and blew out!
