Mitt Romney adviser and former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) admitted that a Republican president would not be able to repeal the health care reform law entirely — but could significantly change it.
“You will not repeal the act in its entirety, but you will see major changes, particularly if there is a Republican president,” Coleman told BioCentury TV, as noted by The Hill. “You can’t whole-cloth throw it out. But you can substantially change what’s been done.”
The remarks reflect the nuances of the issue, but they’re a shocking departure from the message of a candidate who has promised to scrap Obamacare completely if elected to the White House.
