CNN interrupted a newscast on Wednesday afternoon to discuss whether airplane debris found off an island in the Indian Ocean may belong to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared in March 2014.
The debris has been taken to Reunion island, a nearby French department. Adjutant Christian Retournat, a member of the French Air Force based on the island, told CNN “It is way too soon to say whether or not it is MH370.”
No doubt they have excellent seminars in Proust and French post-modernist literature.
It’s not to soon to tell according to an MSNBC expert … the debis doesn’t appear to be from a 777 but suspected it is possibly from a Yemeni plane that disappeared in 2009. Sorry I’m a bit fuzzy on the details and will try to follow up with a link.
Silly me … I didn’t anticipate CNN breathless, factless wall-to-wall coverage quite so quickly.
Hey, maybe it’s from Amelia Earhart’s plane…
“It is way too soon to say whether or not it is MH370.”
So then it’s way too soon to be breaking news, or at best about a 10 second “plane debris has been found on an island and is being investigated”. Done. I see no indication if it was even from a commercial jet (that would be potential breaking news).
The UFO brought it back???
Were there sharks? Because this story would win the day if there were sharks!
