Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan will host a new morning show on CNN expected to premiere in the spring, the network announced Thursday.

CNN president Jeff Zucker said in a statement: “I’ve been looking forward to this announcement since I first joined CNN. Chris, Kate and Michaela are a dynamic team that will give our viewers in America a new way to start their day. We were floored with excitement when we saw Chris and Kate together on screen, and by adding Michaela to the mix we feel we have something very special. We believe there is an opening to do news in the morning with a fresh, new voice.”

Soledad O’Brien previously hosted the network’s morning show, but has plans to step into a new role, producing documentary films in partnership with CNN. As the New York Times’ Brian Stelter reported Thursday, Zucker hired Cuomo, whose brother is New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), with the intention of pairing him with CNN host Erin Burnett. But Burnett was unwilling to move to the early morning slot, according to his report.
