If she wins the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton will consider bringing on a woman as her running mate, an aide told The Boston Globe Thursday.
Campaign chairman, John Podesta told The Boston Globe that Clinton’s short list of potential vice presidential candidates will include women, “no question.”
“We’ll start with a broad list and then begin to narrow it. But there is no question that there will be women on that list,” he said to The Globe.
While Podesta did not name any names or clarify if even a broad list was already in the works, one name that the Globe immediately brought up was Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).
Warren focuses much of her work on income inequality, Wall Street reform and higher education reform. She is one of the more liberal members of Congress, which combined with her expertise on those issues could help Clinton make up some of the ground that is currently held by Sanders.
Warren’s spokeswoman declined to comment for The Globe piece.
The Massachusetts senator has not endorsed either Clinton or her opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). But she has mocked and criticized some of the GOP presidential candidates on Twitter in recent weeks.
Dang. Now, that would be one awesome ticket – Hillary Rodham Clinton and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
The same problem with picking Sherrod Brown here – Baker would get to pick her replacement. Warren is too valuable in the Senate, and the Senate is on the line.

Exactly - plus, having Vice President Warren in the Executive branch might not be as effective as having Elizabeth Warren in the Senate when it’s time to craft policy and get bills passed.
Now, if it were President Warren… but that’s neither here nor there.
