Hillary Clinton is projected to win the Virginia primary Tuesday night according to both MSNBC and CNN against Bernie Sanders, further cementing her dominance as the perceived frontrunner in the race for the Democratic nomination.

Clinton was expected to win there where polls showed her leading Sanders by roughly 20 points. Virginia, a swing state, will play an important role in the 2016 general election, a battleground where Republicans will have to counter a demographic shift and growth in minority voters in the state.

The Hispanic vote is expected to grow by two points in 2016 compared to what it was in 2012 when Romney lost in the state to Obama. Meanwhile, the white vote is expected to shrink by more than two points.

Clinton won the state after being endorsed by both Virginia’s Democratic Sens. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner. According to exit polling, Hillary Clinton won 67 percent of the women vote in Virginia and 56 percent of male voters who came out in the Democratic primary, however, Sanders continued to dominate among young voters under 29 as he won 71 percent of their support.
