Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton joked Saturday at a charity event about the multiple times it took her to gain entry to New York’s subway system, reported ABC News.
Clinton rode the subway last week, but video showed that she struggled to swipe her MetroCard and enter the subway system — repeatedly swiping her card as a man attempted to carry on a conversation.
But she made light of the situation at a charity event alongside New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
““Do me a favor, will you just fix these MetroCard slots? It took me like five swipes,” Clinton told de Blasio, according to ABC. “The little terminal thing kept saying please swipe again. I mean you’ve got to fix that. You don’t have to worry about horses anymore. Fix the turnstile and the MetroCard.”
In all fairness, from personal experience, it took me a few trips to get it right when I starting using the NY subways…
Not quite as bad as H.W. and the checkout scanner, but close…
This absolutely disqualifies her for the office.
She’s pretty much an unknown, so we have to judge her on the little things we learn during the campaign.
Solid logic like this is why we’ve never been forced to use the obscure impeachment clause regarding the proper way to hold a slice.
As someone who goes through a NYC subway turnstile a minimum of 10 times a week and usually more, I consider it a miracle when there’s not at least one day when I have to swipe multiple times, and that’s without someone talking to me as I’m doing it and a TV camera in my face.
Also, de Blasio, if you’re reading TPM, can you fix their comment log-in system. Thanks!
Anyone who doesn’t know the Right Way is probably an alien (the non-Earthling kind).
