The Hillary Clinton campaign Sunday sent cease-and-desist letters to broadcasters telling the stations not to air ads from super PACs supporting Donald Trump that claim that Clinton is under FBI investigation, CNN reported on Monday.
“These ads falsely claim Secretary Clinton is under investigation by the FBI,” the letter from the campaign general counsel Marc Elias reads, according to CNN.
The letter was dated on the same day that FBI Director James Comey wrote in a letter to Congress that a review of newly discovered emails did not change the bureau’s conclusion.
Elias wrote in the letter that the FBI never reopened its investigation into Clinton’s used of a private email server, arguing that the “claim in these ads is provably false,” according to CNN. The Clinton campaign listed super PACs and their ads, including Rebuilding America Now and Future 45, per CNN.
About time, HRC needs to push back hard on this, not just for her election, but for the battles to come.
The GOP needs to stop lying about everything they do.
That’ll never happen.
Years ago I was an interview with Bill Clinton and he said he asked a prominent Republican “Why do you guys always lie? Why do you fight so dirty?”
The man replied, bluntly, “It’s the only way we can win.”
The future 45 ad should drive millions to the polls in the purple state of DC where I live.
You and everybody else on the planet.
Nice. That’s the way you do it. Good move.
