Hillary Clinton will return to California sooner than expected in hopes of strengthening her lead in the state, according to a report from the Washington Post.

Clinton was originally scheduled to spend two days in New Jersey, but the Post reports that Clinton will now only campaign one day in New Jersey before returning to California for five days of events. Polls show the race between Clinton and Sanders tightening. According to a PPIC statewide survey, Clinton’s lead over Sanders shrunk to just two points earlier this month.

While Clinton is still expected to win the Democratic nomination regardless of the outcome in California, losing the Democratic stronghold would show weakness within the Clinton campaign and could make it harder for Clinton to unite her party ahead of the convention in July.
