Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said Tuesday that President Barack Obama hasn’t called him in four years, a far cry from the frequent communication the two maintained back in 2009.
Grassley told The Hill that, during his first year in office, Obama called him multiple times to discuss health care reform.
“I don’t know if it was a half a dozen times or a dozen times, but enough so you remember he called you,” Grassley said.
But when the Iowa Republican told Obama that he wouldn’t be voting in favor of the health care proposal, the calls stopped coming.
“I never had a phone call from him since,” Grassley said.
