The Wall Street Jornal reports Monday that even given the “relentless” stream of calls from prominent Republicans over the last week, Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) isn’t rethinking his decision to not run for the 2012 GOP nomination.

Sounding hopeful, the paper reports that Christie has “wooed deep-pocketed conservatives at a number of recent party events” before succumbing to the reality of the situation.

“Some in the conservative movement are still searching for Mr. or Ms. Wonderful,” a person in the governor’s fund-raising circles told the paper. “But Christie is a guy who through his whole career has said what he means, and he has said no.”
