New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Thursday said that he will personally apologize to the Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich (D) and the residents of his town, which was impacted for days when multiple lanes on the George Washington Bridge were shut down.
“I think they need to see me do that personally, and I intend to do that later on today,” Christie said during a press conference. “People of those communities for four days were impacted in a completely callous and indifferent way, and I’m going to go and apologize for that.”
