Embattled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) thinks it’s “crazy” to even consider the idea of resigning over the George Washington Bridge scandal that he maintains he had nothing to do with.

“Did you ever for even a brief moment entertain the idea of perhaps you should resign?” asked a reporter at a Thursday press conference.

“God no,” he responded. “That’s a crazy question, man. I’m telling you, I had nothing to do with this. So you know, no, I never gave any thought to doing that at all, nor would I. What was I thinking about last night when I couldn’t go to sleep? How did this happen? That’s what I was thinking about.”

Christie announced he had fired his deputy chief of staff who was implicated in the closure of the George Washington Bridge, explaining that she had “lied to me.”
