The re-election effort of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) has drawn a boost from donors who have traditionally bankrolled Democratic candidates, the Star-Ledger reported Monday.
According to a review of state and federal records by the Star-Ledger, Christie received a combined $19,000 from executives at the hedge fund run by liberal business magnate George Soros, the billionaire who has made huge donations to the likes of MoveOn.org.
Another donation came from Chicago investor Tim Mullen, who’s given hundreds of thousands of dollars to both Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and President Barack Obama.
