For the second time in a week, Chris Christie will hit the road for some GOP fundraisers. And for the second time in a week, the Republicans for whom he’s raising money will avoid being seen with him.

Christie will head to Chicago on Tuesday for Republican Governors Association fundraisers — but none of the four GOP gubernatorial hopefuls in Illinois will join him.

The New Jersey governor is embarking on a nationwide fundraising tour amid the ongoing scandal surrounding lane closures on the George Washington Bridge, but so far he hasn’t been warmly embraced by his fellow Republicans.

Neither Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) nor Greg Abbott, the expected GOP nominee in Texas’ gubernatorial race this year, attended Christie’s fundraising events in Dallas and Ft. Worth on Thursday.
